I've got a Silver microMax with a 8" donut coil....I'm wondering if the 10.5" donut coil I've got coming will give me better overall performance on the Silver?
In my opinion, NO, the 10½" Concentric coil, like most accessory coils, is best suited for proper tuning and performance on a model that offers manual Ground Balance.

The simple "turn-on-and-go" models (meaning they are factory preset Gcool smiley will usually work best with their factory supplied search coil, or if anything go with a smaller coil, such as a 6" or 7" ... and make sure you tweak the GB trimmer for peak performance with that coil. Then, again just my opinion, leave the coil mounted that you will use the most.

I got rid of the 8" donut coil for my Silver Sabre microMAX because I mainly hunt trashy places, especially with that basic model, so I mounted the thin profile 6" Concentric coil, made sure the GB was adjusted for peak performance, and I leave it alone. It's always ready-to-grab and use with the 6" coil.

Besides, asking about "better overall performance" is purely a matter of personal opinion and depends upon what constitutes 'better' for you. Better for what or in what way?

I bought the 7" and 10.5" coil to use on my Bandido II microMax after hearing the 10.5" works really well on this detector.

Just wondering what your thought are lads..
I'd decide on one specific coil for the fixed GB model, then use the assortment of other coils, as needed, on the versatile unit, the Bandido II microMAX. The hard-to-find 10½" Concentric coil is one I used to like to have around for working more open areas that had minimal targets. I used it for Cache Hunting, as well as older large parks and other open areas with sparse trash, if the site was old enough to possibly have some slightly deeper coins that I could get with the standard 8" Concentric coil.
