Zincoln, I had two silver rings I found in water and they were black, I ask about cleaning them and was told to use the soda and vinger on foil. It worked very well. Wonder if water works just as well?
No.

Ordinary water won't do the trick as it requires some chemical reaction/interaction.

I find all sorts of silver jewelry items and I clean them the same way I do other things, and the 'chemical' treatment I use costs less and is reusable for quite q few cleanings. I have typed the cleaning steps out in the past, but it is a lot easier to demonstrate. I am planning on doing a Coin Cleaning Video soon to show my equipment and all the steps I use ... and the results ,,, for just a few hours work.

Glad to hear your ring came out okay.
