@WM6- It definitely sounds as though the deus is not your cup of tea, which is totally fine, however, a few of your points against the deus are either false, or may need some clarification. Keep in mind, Cindy was looking for ideas and suggestions, not biased opinions.

I was "proud" owner of DEUS for more that 1 year. Today I am proud to sell it out. In meantime tested it thoroughly. Test table, I posted in previous post, is mine and only part of Deus test tables I posted on different forums. I never seen serious test tables posted by mister Sabitch, which is commercial writer and reviewer, who never remark something bad about his tested models. I have other bad experiences with Deus, not mentioned in previous post.

This does not mean, that Deus is not able to detect something. It only means that it is fancy design flop. For me of course - not for payed Mr. Sabitch.

You write here a whole novel, without substance, and call mine argumented facts and tests "biased opinion"

First of all, to clarify, XP Deus coils are indeed waterproof. That is, if you put the coil in water (down to depths of 10 feet I believe) it won't destroy any of the electronics, and the coils will continue to operate as they should. The control unit and head phones are not waterproof however, and the wireless signal will be disrupted after a few inches of water depth. To get around this and make the deus completely waterproof, a waterproof kit can be used (about $60 new, or cheaper if you diy or buy used). This includes an antenna cable to help transmit the signal from the coil to the control unit, a waterproof case for the control unit, and waterproof earphones.

If it is waterproof, does not mean that it is able to work submersible, cause it is not. Except with funny and time consuming (to connect it) "waterproof kit", which transform Deus back to crappy seen cable detector.

I'm a little confused with your statement, "as almost all cheap Chinese can do". Are you saying that most cheap, chinese metal detectors are waterproof?

Read again. It was about waterproof coil and not waterproof detector. Yes almost all cheap Chinese has waterproof coils and you do not need funny additional "antenna cable" to be able to work submersible. Deus coil is not able to work submersible without additional equipment which transform it from fancy wireless back to funny looking cable detector.

If you like it - good for you. Enjoy it.
