Interesting comments on the Tesoro Euro Sabre 2. thinking

Tesoro upgraded and moded Euro Sabre 2 according special wishes of Czech and Slovak treasure hunters.
I am from Slovenia and take no part in this redesign. I never have first Euro Sabre model, you say "original", so never open it to see inside and compare to Euro Sabre 2. But according to Slovak seller (http://www.detektory-kovov.sk/tesoro-eurosabre-ii-rds_32.html):

"....the detector received new audio discrimination and also used a new RDS coil by default. The detector has three discriminating modes, precise soil clearance and very low weight. The new EuroSabre II 2017 also has basic PCB modifications, which should bring even greater stability to the operation of highly mineralized soils. The best-selling metal detector in the middle class, now model 2017 with new audio discrimination and 28x20 RDS probe !!!"
First, 'Thank You' for the translation. I have seen the ad on the link you included but didn't understand it as it wasn't in English. I could see that they are selling it with the 28x20 coil, which is probably CM measurement and refers to the newer 8X11 DD coil. Too large for most of the densely littered sites we hunt the most.

The year 2017 was mentioned twice and I wonder if the Euro Sabre 2 is really upgraded in performance from the original version? It's been many years since the first Euro Sabre hit the market.

Iron audio and Iron blank are really great feature for Fe - NonFe checking in combination with Discrimination.
Par example Iron blank switch position is able to filter out here already mentioned rusty iron wedge no matter if discrimination is at "zero" position.
If they made improvements over how the original Euro Sabre worked, I would really be interested in giving a Euro Sabre 2 good workout in the dense iron littered sites I hunt. Tesoro models set the standard by which I compare other detectors and have for 35 years now, and many modern detectors still can't match their quick-response and handling in iron debris sites. That's why I really hoped the Euro Sabre would have worked for me with the added Iron Audio function, but on those original versions I owned over here in the USA, depth wasn't very impressive, and iron audio performance was only so-so beyond a depth of maybe 3+ inches.

Yes I have small coil too. Not Tesoro brand. It is 5" CORS Point DD Booster (on photo).
Additionally I have Tesoro Widescan 8" CC coil, Tesoro 8x9,5" Spider CC coil and SEF
WSS 5x10" 00 coil.
For me and the older sites I hunt that have a lot of dense brush as well as debris to work in and a round, I would most likely use my 6" Concentric coil, but I have heard good things about the CORS Point / NEL Sharp DD coil and would want to give it a try.

I tested Tesoro DD 11x12" coil too, but turn it back to seller, due poor testing behavior (worse in
all parameters than par example Spider coil).
Other than Tesoro's 8X9 Concentric coil, I do like the 8X11 DD on my Vaquero for open areas with limited trash, but other bigger-size coils I never cared for. The round 10½" Concentric 'donut' coil worked okay, but I haven't found a clean, good working used specimen of one for 15 or more years. I never really liked the bigger DD coils.

Now I guess I will have to go on a search for a European Tesoro and find a new Euro Sabre 2. The Tesoro market here in the USA seems to keep getting weaker with all of the high-tech newer detectors with their fashionable visual displays and other features, and so many people just don't understand the real 'Beep-and-DIG!' basics for success that we can get from Tesoro's and like-minded detectors. I have several Nokta and Makro and White's models in my Regular-Use Detector Team, but my outfit wouldn't complete without at least a couple of my favorite Tesoro models.

Do you see very many Euro Sabre 2's in use over where you live? In general, have users enjoyed reasonably good success with the ES-2?

Yes, but remember Rich(Utah) that you're going to have another new-to-you detector in a week or so.
