Back to you, Albert.

Had a long day with the 7th WTHO here in Eastern Oregon, then a group get-together for dinner and by the time I got home, changed and cleaned up I fell asleep rather quickly. I never got e-mails or forum posts taken care of, so I'll get to this one quickly before I head off this morning.

Thanks Monte . I finally got out with the Deus. So far what I like about it is the freedom you get from the cables and wires . It’s light weight and you can put the remote or the control module in your pocket and just swing the coil. By the way the set up that I have is the Deus with remote, ws5 wireless headphones and the 9.5 x5 hf coil.
Thanks for the info on your set up with the Deus. Of all the coils for it, the 5X9½ would likely be my coil of choice, but that's only if I had no other detector to use. I just can't warm up to detectors that have a lot of adjustments to tweak, cost a lot of $$$, and have things about them that annoy me.

It has more features plus a few different size coils . The only concerns so far are that if you’re out in the field and the batteries die because you forgot to charge them up, I guess you would be going home early.
The biggest annoyance that I have about the Deus is the different components that each require a battery recharge.

Unless you brought along another detector that used regular batteries.
I always go prepared with extra AA batteries for my detectors, and also take along two or more detectors on any detecting jaunt just to be certain I have a 'back-up' unit, or because one model might provide a little performance difference over another.

Also the new accessory coils that are coming out and the stock coils themselves are getting pretty expensive, if you have to replace or want to add to your setup.
And this brings up my next annoying thing about these XP products, the very expensive search coils, or lack of coil sizes and types I might like to have.

As far as using out in the field , can’t really give any likes or dislikes at this time as I have not learned it yet. That goes the same with the Equinox.
Which makes my 3rd 'not-like' surface because I have never cared for the XP Deus audio. Some like it, of course, but I sure don't. Just doesn't sound appealing to me with my impaired hearing.

I see you had two outings coming up in Nevada. The one farther south is the one I’m interested in as I live in San Diego ca. Anyways we shall see what happens. HH . Thanks
Don't hesitate to travel a little extra to enjoy the "thrill-of-the-hunt" as well as meet a bunch of really good people who participate in these outings. Our first 5 WTHO's were held in Nevada and based out of Wendover, then Montello, then Wells, and the 6th WTHO was here in Eastern Oregon based out of Vale. We just finished our 7th WTHO today, again based out of Vale, Oregon. The 8th WTHO will be based out of Wells, Nevada again and run from May 17th thru May 21st, inclusive.

The Outings have had 17 to 25 participants attend each one, with the one here numbering 20. Unfortunately 4-7 people had other issues arise that prevented their attendance. On this outing we had folks from Oregon, Idaho, Nevada and Utah. On the first six WTHO's we also had attendees from Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois and Washington as well as some from the other mentioned states.

I'm already scouting for new and different sites in other regions of the US for 2019's WTHO get-togethers. Naturally, I am open for any suggestions of good potential sites.

Participants are welcome to post their Outing finds, as well as general comments on the Relic & Old Site Forum, and have been under the 7th WTHO Results heading I started. To my knowledge the oldest coin found was an184? Seated Liberty Quarter. There was also Indian Head Cents, 'V' Nickels and Buffalo Nickels, Mercury, Barber and Seated Liberty Dimes, Seated Liberty Quarters, some Trade Tokens, and a lot of interesting artifacts recovered.

Yes, the next two outings are in Nevada, but I feel the best one for the most coin and trade token potential would be the one out of Wells, Nevada where we'll be working our choices of six ghost towns. We get people attending from much farther away than San Diego. You ought to try and join this group of adventurers.
