Benefits of My New Stuff . . . .

One of the things that I've enjoyed about my newer detectors (Racer 2, CoRe, Equinox 800 ) is their ability to separate (unmask) closely located conductive targets. They aren't perfect, but they sure make it easier to put on a smaller or mid-sized coil and sort through some of the trashy sites with gobs of pull tabs, stay tabs and other bits of lower conductive aluminum 'trash'. I can try and pick out coins or look for unusual targets that may be a ring or other piece of jewelry.

Most of the smaller coils easily obtain several inches of detection depth on coin sized objects. If the area contains targets deeper than the reach of a small coil, I can return with a detector with a larger coil after much of the 'shallow' trash has been removed.

Yes, we do see a lot more Equinox models offered up for sale or trade.

Funny, but as the years progress it does seem to be required.
