( I have a test garden that I put in 20 years ago, I have a Buffalo nickel at 5 inches with iron all around it, I lost that nickel because I used a White's XLT which is known to stumble in the iron. My wife's Tesoro Toltec ll found the lost nickel, the ED-120 Tesoros do really well in the iron.)

Out there in the vast urban and remote locations are so many good and bad targets, clean signaling or partially masked, that I never found a need to waste my time planting a coin garden. Besides, I find a lot of 'keepers' that aren't coins of a known size, shape and alloy content and sure can't try to hide them all."

(I do the same out in the field with natural buried targets but my friends like to come over and run against the Iron Buffalo, none have been successful even when they know where it is.)

Just remember to not get caught up in a lot of marketing hype and think that everything new is better than what you are using because, often times, it isn't. You just might have a more fitting outfit right now, but having some established testing procedures can help confirm that."

(Yep, I usually come up with a nail or two during a hunt and like to place them next to a natural buried target and show my hunting pardner what the small iron can do to a signal. Any of my Tesoros are good at separating the good from the bad and lately have used the White's MX5 and MX7 with good success.)
