That Liberty Park in my home town really produced.

I found my first Indian Head cent there, a 1908. And we used to call the tree row along the sidewalk from center to the NE corner 'V' Nickel Row as there were quite a few 'V's that came from around those trees and within 10' of the sidewalk. But that was back from summer of '68 to the early TR days on the '70s.

Another productive area was around the old drinking fountain in the SE section of the park. When they were working on the new school across the street and redoing the park a few years ago, it was hunted by quite a few 'locals' for three months before I made a jaunt 'back 'home', and as the tractor as ripping up the old sidewalk on the East side I followed behind and pulled a few Silver Mercury Dimes, Buffalo Nickels, and a couple dozen early-date Wheat-backs. FORS Relic and CoRe w/smaller coils serving me well.thumbs up

I know there are some early era keepers lurking there, especially in the more open areas that draw less attention for most detecting hobbyists.
