Wet weather, medical appointments and warm spring weather are interrupting my efforts.

I am still working on my goal this week to hit the 450 coin count since I initiated this post Monday evening, but we had some rain that wasn't planned. Then yesterday, after my morning doctor visit in Caldwell, Idaho, I am not familiar with the area and kind of wiggled a route through some smaller towns in search of a park or other hunt site. Several of those smaller towns don't have a city/town park.eye popping smiley

The weather was really nice and a warming and mostly sunny spring day. I made it to one I had planned on hunting, but the park workers were busy mowing and working on the grounds, so I pushed on. Another was filled with a few gals and a couple dozen Day Care kinds as well as other moms and/or dads with kids to play. I held off and did some map reading until they thinned out then hunted that one. More productive than most of the small parks and also produced a sterling silver ring.

The next small town park was a block or so from the High School and, sure enough, it was lunch time and I think half the student body was occupying the park. They were joined by several moms with kins who commandeered the playground. I grabbed lunch so Rikki and I could eat on the way to the next park. Last year and the year before this little out-of-the-way site always surrendered 30-50 coins per visit. The playground this year is gone and under about 1 to 3 feet of fill dirt as they are going to make it a parking area or ???. There is a new little playground that is tiny and has that new rubber mat surface instead of woodchip, sand or pea gravel.

Workers were also busy with their project so I headed off for someplace else.

One more stop and it was obviously a park one of the 'locals' likes to hunt. I figured one more wouldn't hurt so I jumped in to nab a few coins. Using my Tesoro and my short-hunt results did get a conversation going as I sat and rested up for a few minutes.

PS: Yesterday was a 'Tesoro Day' and I'll comment on why I enjoy my Silver Sabre microMAX w/6" Concentric coil over on the Tesoro Forum.

Then it was on toward home to take care of some shopping and get gas. We have two stations in town and they were both close to the same yesterday morning. the other, however, jumped from $2.84 to $2.96 while I was gone. I sure don't like watching gas prices increase this past three to four weeks.sad smiley They were $2.29 and went up to $2.34 when it started and most places over in Idaho I went past yesterday had higher prices than the $2.82 I paid when I got home and fueled up. Had to be ready for today's detecting jaunt to a ghost town or two, then back to Coin Hunting.

Still working toward my weekly goal to get the season under way.

All day I used my new addition Tesoro Silver Sabre microMAX (µMAX) with 6" Concentric coil. Sensitivity at maximum, Discrimination at the minimum setting (always), and a proper slight audio Threshold hum.
