Day #3 Results.

Close to miserable. Long drive to an early doctor appointment, then a longer drive of over an hour-and-a-half to find old stuff. Tried to work an old dance hall site where only a small foundation remains. Only a small 6'X10' patch was clear of all the dense weedy vegetation. Grabbed the MX-7 w/6½" Concentric for that task, but no coins or anything of notable interest. Have to return when the weeds are gone this fall.

Went on a ways to a smaller town that used to produce for me at the very small city park and elementary school. Park is now smaller, at least in huntable bark-chip, as they installed a bunch of rubber mat around several of the playground structures. About half of the area now has the mat. Then I worked the school playground which is usually reasonably productive as I typically get 75 to 125 coins on a typical visit to that small and somewhat out-of-the way town..

Didn't fare too well yesterday, only chancing upon two pieces of costume jewelry and just under 50 coins. I grabbed my Bandido II µMAX w/6" Concentric coil for those searches. Not sure what somebody else used, but it looked like it had been cleaned it out a bit.

Checked two other old-use locations, but weed growth has certainly been an issue at most places this year, and that included both of them. Almost made it to my first hundred coin mark for the month yesterday, but just a bit short. Maybe today, if I can get out this afternoon before getting back for the parade and then rodeo. It's going to be getting hotter the rest of this month and next and I only wish some of the locations I want to go had shade-producing trees, and a nice breeze, too.

I might make a drive to Western Oregon and pay White's a visit. I need to take care of some headphone issues, or try to, and maybe I can spend a day or two in shady parks and playgrounds over on that side of the state.

Everyone, please enjoy the holiday and I hope you can get some hunt-time in as well. I'm headed out the door at noon to put in whatever time I can and make it 4 for 4 for the month of July as I have some catching up to do.
