Highs were 93°, 97° and 99° and practically breeze-free.
We didn't get a very cool morning, especially by the time I was up and arrived at places I wanted to hunt on and off those three days. The brief hunt I got in earlier on day #11 was at the larger grassy park that surrenders hardly any coins on the southern limits of the grassy park, away from the RV campers. No US coins found until the last 15 minutes when I recovered a couple of '60s and '70s pennies and one nickel. They accompanied my '89 Canadian 5¢ piece on home as it was getting too hot.
Yesterday's 99° and quick heating up to get there kept me home with the AC running. It cooled to 70° by 5:30 this morning and with my late start I only made a trip to Ontario to buy a new pair of shoes and try to catch workers and owner at an old house being renovated, but they weren't working on it. It was 87° by 10:30 this morning, and since I can't handle the heat like in younger years, I have been staying cool inside and wishing for World Series and Football season weather to get here.
So, the last few days have cut in on my 'flash money' finds, but I did spot a place to try and work later today, during high temps, but it will be shady, and if we get the isolated thunderstorms arrive earlier than dark we might get some comfortable breezes or winds to make it more pleasant. It will be the XLT I'll put to work this evening and hope I can last long enough to chance upon some older coinage along with the modern stuff.
A brief break, temperature wise, with a 10° to 12° drop on Monday and Tuesday then it starts warming up again. Hopefully I'll have a break in medical appointments after next Monday and Wednesday and get away for a 6 to 8 day detecting jaunt to some more populated areas of Utah and that will let me work a fair number of places ...
that hopefully will have an increased coin-count.
I hope others are getting out and have more comfortable weather.
