Hey j.t.,
I actually have just 2 Tesoro's left; an original golden sabre' and a bandido. I have a mojave at the house, but I've given it to my oldest grandson. Monte got my very nice Bandido II µMax, and I sold my equally sweet Golden µMax new tones last year. My original Silver Sabre went to Sven's Silver Turtle rehab project, a worthy cause.
The mojave is a very likeable detector and can certainly hold its' own in the tot lots or hunting the yards of old homes. It is surprisingly good. Trouble is with the tot lots last week, there wasn't much of any signalling going on. I picked up a small amount of foil and gum wrappers, a couple stay tabs, some pieces of nuts and bolts from the playground equipment, a few bits and pieces of junk jewelry, and a few coins. Pretty thin pickins'.
My lone triumph of the day, it there was one, was an 11" deep nickel. A new nickel at that. Buried way down in the wet compacted wood chips that haven't been disturbed for a long time. The 800 picked it up solidly, and ID'd it correctly at a locked on 13. I was hoping for a ring of course.
I was pretty disappointed at the results overall, but, that's the way is can be. I just have to remember that things balance out over the long run, so the next few times I'm out, I can look forward to better results.
