That's because I just can't handle heat or cold extremes like I used to. Miss those days of being younger and healthier, and temps for the next 1 to 4 weeks will mainly be sunny and hot with highs in the 96° to 105° range fro several forecasts. The only option other than stay at home and enjoy the AC, is to head for the shade. Not as much around the high desert plateau region as I took advantage of when I lived in greener NW Oregon, but I'm going to do my best to find some shady areas to do some detecting.
And Yes, UtahRich, there is always water hunting to stay cooler, but this aqua-phobic didn't come with gills and the best I might do is some Beach Hunting where it is a firmer rock or gravel base and not soft sand. And .... only very early or late unless there's also shade. Not many tress along most detectable beaches. So I'll leave most water-hunting to folks like you.
I will be careful, however, and just in case I trip and fall (known to happen) or lose my grip and drop my detector (and that's also happened a couple of times now) I'll do my Beach Hunting using my waterproof Nokta / Makro Simplex +.
It's been over three decades since I regularly Coin Hunted a lot of parks and other places and did a lot of searching and finding under trees. Now I need to find a site with an older tree (to find older lost coins) or two that might have been ignored and didn't see much detecting.
Summertime .... still need to try and have some fun.
