Out on the last day of August, I hunted for a couple hours on field that's been closed for the summer. The field has been aerated and some filling and reseeding was done through the middle. This is a field I had just started doing a grid search on before it was closed, and where I found multiple clad Kennedy 50c.coins during my spring hunting. Not yet sure how much the aeration and filling will affect my ability to get good targets in the middle filled area of the field.
Yesterday I hunted along the edge near a grove of large pines that offer shade to spectators. First few recoveries were aluminum, and then was able to retrieve this silver and opal ring, the best find of my two hour hunt. I still need finish cleaning it up. Ring is marked "sterling" and with a capital Y marked separately beside it.
