Remfire: Hey, an old school leather duty belt! Nice! I’d like to detect one of those buckles.[/quote]
When I got a new duty belt, plain, not basket-weave, back in '72 or so I made use of the old one. We didn't have Lesche Diggers or Pinpointers and such, but I did fashion a finds pouch and liked the sturdy belt. Not like the saggy, thin, nylon belts we see come with a lot of the finds pouches these days. That finds gear was stolen out of my vehicle back in '96 so when I re-outfitted myself I bought one of the very sturdy and 'modern' nylon type duty belts. It fits well, holds its shape, and makes a more snug fit for the digger sheathes, pouches and pinpointer holders to fit on them well. And quite durable, too.
