Took the Mojave out to a local park in Kingman and hit this rosy and a wheatie in the same hole under a nice olive tree.
Had the sensitivity on “5”, and running in high mineralization. This park is similar to hunting in a ghost town! Covered with iron debris and your usual park junk.
The Mojave is, like most better Tesoro's, a solid performer. I am certain your park is a challenge, however, if we planted you in 'downtown' Toano Nevada, up on the top of what we call 'TIN Hill' in 'Rippville' Oregon, or just off the old road near the bank site in 'Lonesome Arch' Oregon, I am sure you would find your park is nothing close to some of our Iron contaminated ghost towns. One good WTHO can usually demonstrate that.

The Mojave seems to do quite a bit better here vs my Omega 8000 version 4,and I believe the large quantities of iron is just a little too much for the Omega to run smoothly.
You are correct on that, Jeff. The Omega 8000 was one of my favorite urban Coin Hunting detectors, but as good as it is in typical urban grassy sites, even with the 5" DD mounted it just can not handle Iron Nails or other dense ferrous target contamination like the better-performing detectors. One being any decent Tesoro.
