6:48 AM, 56°, wind at 5 mph. Forecast to hit 73° with a mostly cloudy / partly sunny day. Sunrise in about 20 minutes so I am headed out with Miss Rikki to grab some breakfast to enjoy as we set out to find some place to detect in our new environment. Tot-lots to renovation work in an older area of some of these towns ought to provide some sort of detecting opportunity. I hope all of you have some decent weather and places to go as we are fully into springtime. What a relief from the long, cold winter where I was.
I am going to miss the vast amounts of public land I enjoyed in Oregon, Nevada and Utah, but I'll learn to get along with the folks here in this very friendly state and find some permissions to hunt as time goes by. And I will enjoy the lower mineralization to deal with and the more easily digable ground. Plus I have an offer in on a house I hope to acquire, and it's old enough to cough up a silver coin or two, some wheat-back cents and who knows what else?
Now, if this bad diabetic can stay away from all the sweet stuff that's around for Easter that will help, which is why I am headed out early from my son's house while all of them are sleeping. Hit the drive-through at some grub-to-go place, gas up at $2.49 a gallon and my Sunday adventure begins. All of you have an enjoyable day as well ... and good luck afield!
