I seriously doubt I'll find a 'virgin' park, but I do hope to stumble across one or two that have been ignored or a long while. A lot of people got involved in this great sport during the early Coin Hunting craze of the late '60's and on through the '80s, and with the biggest detector manufacturer around, Garrett Electronics aka Garrett Metal Detectors, located only 2½ hours away, I know for a fact that most of these Texas towns, dinky to large, and a good supply of hobbyists hard at work to clean them out.
I'll keep looking for any and all parks and common-use areas, but I've already started my research on older-use locations. I am seeing a lot of hope for so many vacant house-sites in older neighborhoods and just need to track down ownership and acquire permission. That's part of the fun.
