.52 acres w/1933 house. This past week included some trenching for about a hundred and twenty-five feet to work on the water line from the pump house, and some partial trenching to prepare for sewer line work tomorrow. That exposed a lot of dirt from 10" to 18" deep that was raked out to about 3"-4" in to detect.
We worked it with a FORS CoRe, FORS Relic, Bandido II microMAX, Silver Sabre microMAX, Apex and ORX and gave it every chance to surrender any chunk of silver, but no luck. Modern coins from 1965 to recent, and maybe a half-dozen seat-back cents from the '40s and '50s, but no silver.
The former owner, who lived here the past twenty-five years said in that time it has never been detected. Makes me wonder about the hey-days of the '70s and '80s and up to '96 when he bought it if, perhaps, it had been searched?
Oh well, I won't give up yet as there is still a lot of area to cover, but it is getting a bit frustrating with over 200 coins so far and not a single shiny silver coin.
I hope everyone else has a good site to hunt that is productive. It's overcast for a while which makes a little more comfortable so I guess I'll pick and choose one of my weapons and go attack the more open area on the southwest corner.
