Thought you always raved about the T2 and knocked the F75!
I liked the T2, ending with the T2+, but didn't really knock the F75. At the time, years back, there were things I liked about the T2, such as the dark green color and the fact the Ferrous / Non-Ferrous break-point was '40' and that was what I liked about the original Racer and FORS CoRe. The CoRe and T2 also knocked Iron Nails out at about '21'. I also liked the Omega 8000 with a '40' Ferrous / Non-Ferrous break, but it zapped Iron Nails '16' instead of '21'. The T2 worked okay for me with the 5" DD coil which I kept mounted full-time on a T2. I had 3 of the F75 series models but they didn't do anything for me,
at the time, that the T2 couldn't provide, and it wasn't replaced until I found a detector that beat it. It also wasn't use as much as I would like to have used it, even with the 5" DD, because I had other detectors that could best in heavy Iron Nail environments, like my favorite Tesoro's w/6" Concentric, modified IDX Pro's w/6½" Concentric coil, and a couple of others.
A key reason I also liked the T2 was for use in cooler weather because the nice-size arm cup was better for wearing a sweater, jacket or coat.
So why the Fisher F75+? Because I still think it is about the best physical configuration with the arm-cup, and battery / headphone jack location, and overall balance. Plus, I can use a Concentric coil and not be stuck with only DD coils. Add to that the extra modes and especially the memory that retains settings ...
to include the GB ... when turned off and started back up. Add to that the fact that the VDI read-out is almost identical to the Makro Racer 2, and with a lot of detectors it is good to have one less with different readings for common US coins.

You bailed out of the Vanquish??----Poor ole Oregon Gregg purchased that machine because of your (at the time) good report on it.
Gregg saw and handled the V-540 from a day after I got my first one, and I am sure Gregg likes some of the things I did. The physical package, ease of changing only 4 AA batteries, easy-to-use, and the 5X8 DD coil for 'scouting' or working 'fringe areas' of the ghost towns. It felt comfortable to use and balance, plus it was collapsible to take on a 4-wheelere into some of the remote areas.
Then goofy things started to arise, and zincoln's comments after encountering the Nickel half-covering a Dime that was butted up against a Quarter, on trop of the ground, and the audio and VDI report was awful. I experienced that when comparing the V-540 with the Simplex + and Apex which both performed brilliantly and gave a good audio and visual response. The messed up preset GB was also an annoying issue.
I still like the V-540 in many ways, such as the audio or Tone ID like the Eq.800 and the wireless headphones, but ...
