is it true/false because somebody says it was? or because it actually is? Let's NOT perpetuate myths if that's what they are.

It's 'true' if it is known and shown to be a proven fact. Sadly, too many people unknowingly describe things or state things that are incorrect, not true, and they naturally are mis-believed and repeated, even though they are NOT a fact. Sure adds to confusion.

Do electromagnetic fields for concentric coils generate in a cone shape? I think we discussed this several months ago and my testing shows NOT CONE SHAPED. What do you say?

this topic comes up often though the years and gets discussed. You are correct, the EMF from / about a Concentric coil is NOT CONE SHAPED, nor is the field from a DD coil when you start to measure or test to see what the field is like farther from the coil's center. The reactive portion of a coil, either type, will get smaller farther from th coin's center and it is that working part of the field that is more-or-less cone-shaped.

I did a lot of search coil comparisons from about '85 to '92, especially when I worked at Compass Electronics and had the opportunity to make test devices. That was a lot of fun and a good learning experience.
