A couple of friends put their older discontinued detectors to work before our storm hit

Used an Ace 250 with the 4 1/2 inch coil, and a Classic ID with a 6" coil to hit some renovation work here in town.. Got several wheat pennies going back to 1909-S, no VDB, '44 Silver Washington quarter, a Mercur dime, a Barber dime, and a nice silver pendant.

Another friend used his old, out of date Garrett to beach hunt at a local reservoir and was rewarded with a few tungsten rings, a few junk rings, 2 silver rings but no gold, and a fair number of coins. Now that summer's over and kids are in school he went up mid-week when there was hardly anyone around and it was on a warmer day with no wind before our high wind and snows arrived.

I look forward to my eye surgeries next month when I'll then be able to get out and do some limited detecting myself. Of course with Winter soon upon us I might not get much of a chance until Spring but I know there's always some potential at good renovation work. I hope all readers can keep a watchful eye for anything that might come available in their area and have weather that cooperates. Oh, and success as well.
