Congrats on being able to get out and find stuff!

I also enjoy finding old military stuff, and it used to be fairly frequent in some of those northern Utah and eastern Nevada RR town sites I hunted. At least from '83 through the latter '90s, but it sure got thinned out over this past twenty years. Mid- '83 thru maybe '88 there were times I would send a full day at 'Twin Flats' Utah and, in addition to several 1800's US coins and Chinese Cash Coins, I would have 2-4 old military buttons, and sometimes old insignia.

But those were confined-size ghost towns whereas you have the opportunity to hunt where there was a lot of early-day military activity, over a broader area, so you get to enjoy more surprises more frequently over time. No need for you to move elsewhere, if you enjoy finding old military stuff ... unless you headed farther east to one of the states with ample Civil War activity. You'd really enjoy those many site opportunities.thumbs up

I hope the weather continues to let you get out hunting more.

Which detector and coil were you using?
