Roger, both the detector coil choices you made are good.

I chose the 5” because even though there is a lot of acreage to cover, there are lots of cans and other debris and the places I have found coins there are lots of targets to sort through.
I use smaller-size coils the bulk of the time and have for decades. By 'smaller-size' I am referring to 7" diameter or smaller. With the Relic, my unit with the 5" DD sees most of the action, but when trash isn't quite so bad, or I have more area to cover, I opt for a "mid-size" coil and grab my other Relic that keeps a 5X9½ Double-D mounted.

I am learning the Relic but when hunting here with my Racer 2 I mostly use the 7” Makro concentric.
I have to be honest here and say that for working any high-trash location, especially older sites where ferrous debris is in abundance, I prefer my Nokta Relic as #1 and my Nokta CoRe #2, both with their smaller DD coils mounted.

When I used a Racer 2, Impact, Multi-Kruzer or now the Anfibio Multi, my most preferred coil was / is the 7" Concentric. If things got too difficult then I'd switch to the smallest 'OOR' or 5" DD on those models ... but most often just simply grabbed my Relic or CoRe with a smaller coil already mounted. One reason for my search coil assignments were these:

Nokta never made a round, 7" Concentric for the Relic or CoRe. sad smiley So for sites with moderate trash I use their 5X9½ open-frame DD coil.

I haven't found any other detector and coil combination, from Nokta - Makro or any competitor, to provide me with the iron nail performance I get from a CoRe w/'OOR' DD or Relic w/5" DD. These two models, even with ample ferrous Discrimination, are very tough to match and almost impossible to beat.

In your case, with a Racer 2 & 7" Concentric and a Relic & 5" DD at-the-ready, you have two models that are well equipped to complement each other in just about any challenging environment.thumbs up
