... and to add to the 'fun' it's also great to make a really nice older coin find. An Indian Head Cent that is 139 years old easily qualifies in that regard.thumbs up I'd like to see the Obverse side condition.

Naturally, having a really good performing detector in-hand goes a long way to help, and that means a unit with excellent response and Disc. mode handling to unmask keepers that are partially masked by a lot of surface and shallow ferrous junk. Two of the absolute best out there are the Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic. Those are my two 'must-haves' for such sites with abundant iron debris.
