Very impressive looking "Downtown Cobre" but ...

just where did those two-story structures stand? What else was around the townsite? More importantly, we have to wonder what's left for those of us making an adventurous trip there in these modern times?

'Thank You', Eric B. for posting this. I was going to add it to tonight's e-mail to all the WTHO folks but you've handled that now. The town's regular population was one thing, but photos such as this one convey to us how many of those old RR towns had a pretty good 'transient population' as folks traveled through, by train or stage or wagon, and the local and community dwellers had to spend a lot of time visiting those locations, too.

Looking forward to trying to find keepers in the area later next week on our 11th WTHO to Wells, Nevada on the 13th thru the 16th. Cobre is just one of many ghost towns we'll have to opportunity to search. I'll see you there.
