Monte & I headed up to Lonesome Arch early today and put in a morning hunt. Was pretty pleasant up till around 11 am or so and then it started to get hot.
Today I used the Fors Relic w/5" coil. Was working in an area close to where I found the 1850's Marine/Navy Button. Its pretty nasty and loaded with tin. Was going nice and slow and working on around the brim, got a good mid-tone, so started kicking the dirt away and out comes a round disc. That's good and it turned out to be a 1910 V nickel. Poor thing had a couple of dings in it.
All in all, was a fun day, Unforntantly Monte didn't get any coins. Perhaps on the next time out, he will choose to use a proper machine and coil combo
