A first with the Kruzer

October 19, 2019 07:40PM
My son and I went on a road trip this weekend to do some rock hounding and to visit some petroglyph sites. We were staying with some friends whose place was built in the late 1800’s so I asked them if they cared if I brought my detector and did some hunting around their place, no problem they said.
So tonight after we got back from our hike I got out the MMK and starting working my way around an out building that was once a blacksmith shop I wasn’t having much luck until I worked my way along a spot where some topsoil had been scraped off. On the second swing bam! That sweet high tone thump and a solid repeatable 89 on the display, I was really expecting a clad quarter to pop up but it was a 1902 o quarter! This is my first barber quarter found with a detector so I’m pretty stoked, the quarter was 6” deep the settings were 2 tone, 85 sensitivity, 14kHz with the 9x5 coil.
