Hi Del, tell Patsy hi. Sure glad that encounter only turned out to be a good scare and nothing else. I have been fairly lucky as far as rattlers. The only time I have encountered them while detecting was back in 2016. That sure seemed to be the year of Rattlesnakes. Killed 7 or 8 of them that year up here in Oregon as well as down in NV on the outing.

So glad Patsy heard the snake and was able to stop and slowly back away.

Unlike Monte, I like snakes, except rattlers. They can raise hell with people, pets and livestock. Cows and Horses etc are pretty big animals and can endure a bite, but most often they are grazing and get bit in the nostril area which causes the area to swell and eventually causes the animal to suffocate.
