Thank you sir, for both the answers and the invite. Now that my walking ability is somewhat back to normal I look forward to an open border and some real baptism of fire ghost town hunting.
Best regards
Drew

I've met many very experienced Hobbyists who out in countless hours Coin Hunting all sorts of urban sites, and they have been well rewarded for their efforts. They find "older coins" that date into the Depression Era and even a bit earlier, but it is their quantities that bring the gasps from onlookers getting into this great sport.

Then their curiosity is piqued about how some of us spend most of our hunt-time in ghost towns, homesteads, finding old pioneer and military encampments or fort sites, and other older-era, long-gone .... and densely iron infested ... places to hunt. Back in the better days of the mid-'80s and on to about '05, my all-time favorite town of 'Twin Flats' and a few other places I frequented kicked out an uncanny percentage of older coins. Seated Liberty out-numbered Barber by about 30-to-1. Shield Nickels numbered a count of about 75% of what I got in 'V' Nickels. The 'odd' denomination change like Flying Eagle and Large Cents, 2¢ pieces also 3¢ pieces came back to life from their resting place.

I would get asked by friends about the places I hunted and some would ask to be taken along on one of my detecting jaunts. I'd warn them that were I like to hunt, it isn't like a picnic in a park with a lot of great signals that produce quantities of coins. It wasn't like dealing with discarded aluminum foil, or the Ring-Pull or Pry-Tab type aluminum tabs. No, indeed, as they would find an abundance of non-ferrous targets that would lock-on and fib that they were a coin. And that was if you got a lock-on signal when so many keepers were snuggled up close to some hunk of good-target masking iron nails or other ferrous debris.

They were warned, and they got their "real baptism of fire ghost town hunting", and many of them only took me up on an invite to come have fun once ... and never again. It's just not an experience many people want to take on.

Now that you're more mobile, we just need this nutty 'virus' stuff to ease up and let folks travel. Let me know when you might want a few days of adventure down this way.
