Yesterday was a double trip adventure and wore me out, therefore, a tardy reply.

It was a terrific weather day, and even with our early start it warmed up in a hurry. Has Gregg mentioned, we were both able able to leave without being skunked for the day.

I was hoping to get my token cleaned up and get a photo to post, but two things interrupted that plan. One was that I was so exhausted that after I got home I put it in the cleaning solution and was in pain and I laid down to straighten my back. I fell asleep for several hours which was something I needed, and so did Rikki, but hours was too much time in the treatment solution.

One side will clean up pretty good but the other side got a bit over- cleaned. It's not a nice brass token, or aluminum, but one made comparable to our USA nickel coin. Matter of fact, the VDI loxon like a nickel, so I presume they have lot of nickel or in the metal makeup, or some low reading other metal, and with the effects of the ground mineralization or any chemicals that would have been in the area it leaves it just a little pitted on the surface. Then, when cleaned, or should I say over-cleaned, it takes away a little bit of the surface metal.

My second problem is that I have almost everything moved out of my house into a
facility, and in doing so my small coin cleaning tote got packed away somewhere. I'm going to have to go take time at the storage facility tomorrow and try to find it to let me do a little more cleaning and restoring on this token. Then I can get a picture and post it.

At least I found one though, and had fun looking. That's the important thing to remember about this great sport, having fun whether we're successful or not.
