I guess it also depends on what we consider to be an '
old coin.' It sure isn't like the days I use to enjoy, especially in my all-time favorite ghost town, and it was still quite productive for me even up to about fifteen years ago, and those were definitely in the older category. It's not just the detector we are using, although the detector and coil choice can definitely make a difference in many applications. The primary ingredient in having multi old-coin success is
location more than anything else. Then, with a good-potential place to hunt, it gets into time, effort, patience and the detector & coil pick .... all blended together.
One reason I am always on the watch for a new place to hunt, such as renovation work, demolition sites, etc. It only takes one new site to brighten my day.
