Most of those that require a decent vehicle would be located in Eastern Oregon, such as some of the gold mining era ghost towns and such.
Hard to access by foot would be one of two Western Oregon types of sites. The very crowded areas of unrest around Portland and similar places, where I wouldn't care to be. Or the out-of-the-way portions of several parks in Portland and the greater Portland metro area. Now those ARE the types of places I have enjoyed getting into going way back to the 1970's ... and especially after we got better detectors to handle hunting in and around dense brush and entanglements.
My only problem these days is due to my health and impaired mobility issues, the steep angles and dense brush are a bit of a struggle for me to deal with. However, with the results I used to enjoy, and the terrific finds made by 'zincoln' this year, I just might try and work in a visit for several days this fall.
It would be fun to have a bunch of 'forum regulars' meet up at some location just t have an AFM Outing (Ahrps Forum Member Outing). But the Portland metro area would be more expensive, and timing would have to be favorable to not involve some rainy weather. Maybe just an Eastern Oregon ghost town adventure?
