Del,
I didn't miss the point, it's at the top of my head left there from far too many days wearing the dunce cap at school.
Cell phones seem to be the bane of our existence in the last 20 years, though some can't see it. Staring at a little screen while the world passes by. Turn it off, open the door, and step outside into a REAL world of sunshine and rain and wind and mountains and on and on. Talk to a person face to face. Watch their expressions and hear their voice.
I had a pair of winter sorrels many years ago keeping my feet warm on a Mid-winters hunt at a ghost town in the West Desert of Utah. I started swinging my detector and found a target right in front of me. It moved as I moved and I quickly figured out there were steel toes in my boots making it impossible to hunt in normal fashion. I spent the rest of my time awkwardly hunting off to my side. Lesson learned
