Re: Has anyone tried the Tarsacci in ghost town scenario?

The Tarsacci can be setup to use in ghost towns and actually runs pretty quiet. But there lies the problem quiet. it isn't real good at unmasking in areas with shallow targets/nails and it still has the same issues most VLF's have with flat tin and bottle caps. I ran mine on the last WTHO outing at Toano for about 2 hours. It discs out nails fairly well and so it's actually a better pre 1870 site hunter where there is less flat tin.

Now if you put it in a site where items are being found from the surface down to 12" deep. The Tarsacci will hang with the best of them, simply because masking in a 3D scenario affects all metal detectors about the same. I did a test where I found 21 targets with the XP Deus, Minelab Equinox, Tarsacci MDT and the Minelab GPX. All of the detectors could see targets with the exception of the Deus and that was due to some of them being too deep for the Deus to pick up.

Most ghost ton type environments means a lot of iron debris.
