It's June 13th, and our 13th WTHO is winding down.

There were at least 22 participants for this outing, and I heard 13 made it to the Saturday evening Dinner & Get-Together in Wells Nevada. As usual, any Outing is a great time to have an opportunity to find something old and unique, and it's even more fulfilling just to get together with a great bunch of attendees. Several new faces this year and I hope everyone had a successful time a field, and enjoyed the opportunity to meet others who share this great outdoor sport.

I wish I would have been able to make it this year, even though I doubt I would have had much detecting time just due to some increased health issues. It was all compounded by my move to Texas which put travel distance a little bit greater, and thinned out any Loose Change I had to afford such of an adventure. Plus I have been, and am, very busy with taking care of needed repairs and some desired fixing up.

So far I've only heard from a few participants and their reports suggest either they're not using the best equipment and techniques or these well-hundred sites are finally indicating they've been worked very hard and Pickens are thin.

These past six years, since our first outing in 2015, we have seen changes every year in the detector selection some folks bring to an outing. I look back at the outings from 2015 where those first few years or half-dozen outings saw a lot of detectors used from Nokta or Makro, and generally resulting in very good success ratio. This year, however, I know OregonGregg used his Nokta FORS CoRe and FORS Relic, but I did not hear of anyone else using one of their products.

Matter-of-fact, the few I have heard from or heard about were using either the Minelab Equinox, XP Deus or ORX. I look forward to reading about which detectors and coils were used by others, as well as their comments about the results they had.

I'm looking for any suggestions from anyone for sites for me to follow up on for future outings because I think we're probably done using these same sites out of Wells. There is stuff there to be sure, but it is very masked by Iron debris and some challenging ground mineralisation.

Again, I'm sorry I was not able to attend and meet some of the new participants and longtime regulars. Our outings have always been enjoyable just for the camaraderie, but I'm sure someone made a good find. Let's all sit back and enjoy any posts participants made who respond to this thread.
