You haven't been enjoying this hobby for a very long period of time, but your site selection has shown that your efforts have been very rewarding. Congratulations.

Hunting slowly and methodically has always been a key element to my own success especially when you get into dence, challenging debris such as nails and other iron junk. It also pays to use the smaller size coil to help work in between the targets and do a better job of unmasking keepers.

And, like you mentioned, it can also be to our benefit if we remove some of that annoying iron debris. That also helps unmask those hidden good targets.

When you say you turned off All Metal, are you referring to hunting in a true, threshold-based All Metal mode, or are you referring to searches made in the motion discriminate mode with the rejection low enough to accept all ferrouss and non-ferrous targets? With my CoRe and Relic models I have my discrimination set just low enough to barely accept iron nails, and with the Relic I use a low tone Iron Audio Volume. Targets that are less conductive than nails for the most part are rejected and I don't hear them.

With my Apex models, I have my discrimination set low to reject some iron and still accept most iron nails, but with those models I am also using a low Iron Audio Volume to make searches less annoying. On occasion, but not very often, I hunt with a zero Disc. setting but most of the time I don't, preferring to just barely hear iron nails or more conductive targets.

Again, thank you for your posts and information about your hunts and success, and congratulations on another nice Indian Head Cent, and thanks again for your photo group. A lot of interesting finds, and other than the old coins my favorite are the marbles. I always enjoy those eye-ball finds and I have hung on to a lot of my old marbles. They can be very interesting examples of those earlier era activities of fun.
