We know it is also a matter of coil used, settings used, and how the operator works his outfit, but I am wondering about how 'newer' detectors are going to perform. By "newer" I am referring to the two most recent detector releases, the XP Deus II and the Nokta / Makro Legend. And since The Legend was designed to really go after the Minelab Equinox 800, I am curious how they will perform, too.
However, by 'NEW' detector I am also referring to other more recent detectors on the market we haven't seen on any of the Outings, but also ANY detector that is 'new' to the operator. For example, I'll refer to my own Detector Team which includes a Fisher F19, Fisher F75+ and Garrett Apex that I have either recently acquired, or one I haven't been able to take on one of our Outings yet. I am only bringing along a few of my detectors for discussion and/or demonstration for anyone interested. Most likely they will be the F19, F75+, Apex, FORS Relic and possibly the ORX. Unless something miraculous happens I won't be able to get around with my cane to do any detecting, but I like to have good detectors at-hand just because I am so used to it. Besides, a few people have asked about certain detector models and/or search coil choices, as well as performance.
Oh, and in the original post I used the term 'brash' and it was really aimed at an individual, or two, who has been on, and booted off of, quite a few Forums for his comments about almost anything anyone uses, unless it is what he tends to insist is 'the best". It wasn't anything related to the good people on the AHRPS Forums.
