Old farmland where there is lot's of fertilizer really beats up the old coppers and nickels here. That particular farm goes back to early 1700's, was a diary farm, land was split up and a neighboring farm had used it for haying then in the 50's it was converted to an orchard.
Digging is bit tricky as there are water lines etc that were put in and obviously need to have caution around the roots so much of the hunting has been in middle of paths. Last weekend I snagged a 1875 IHP but it too was in rough shape.
Hopefully I might get another crack at the orchard unless the snow froze things up here. Will check it out this weeked if I can
