Lake shore hunt before it froze

In this area, typical of many of the lakes and ponds here is riddled with hot rocks, black sand patches and natural iron. I usually either the Tejon with concentric (widescan dd will mask out in many spots) or the Gold Racer.

Gold Racer balances nice and the high frequency has nice separation. I also love the elpitcal closed coil for working around rocks. I will hunt mostly in All metal with iSat between 6 (stock) and 8 to smooth out the threshold. Tracking usually off. Areas with lots of targets I will use Disc 1 with iMask on if hot rocks are present, set my ID Filter (threshold discriminator) around 36 which will eliminate smaller coal, cut nails etc. Next I set my Tone Break at 63 where a nickel breaks. this leaves a short window of potential gold, platinum jewlery in the iron audio and the VCO for the rest of non ferous targets. Old button was a 2 piece, brass and think it was guilded one time. Copper ring is a little crude, no signs of plating on it, not sure the age.
