Cindy, the new 5X9½ DD on the Nokta FORS CoRe is a

terrific coil, and I use the same size/weight/design coil on my Nokta Impact. I WILL get the FC24 5X9½ DD and the FR24 5X9½ DD coils for my FORS CoRe and FORS Relic models. There are aftermarket coils that are similar is size and design, such as the NEL Sharpshooter like Gregg mentioned, HOWEVER ....

He also suggested you invest in the new 7" Concentric made by Makro / Nokta for the Racer & Racer 2 models and I have to agree with that recommendation. I am really enjoying the 7" Concentric on my Impact and Gregg bought one for his Racer 2 that he is also enjoying. I think the hint to buy the 7" Concentric is the better move you can make for a Racer/Racer 2, whichever you have.

To me, having the smaller coil, either the 'OOR' or 5" DD, for denser trash conditions and the 7" Concentric for general purpose searching is a nice 2-coil mix for the Racer series. Unfortunately, Gregg is going to be getting into 'work' season and will only have one day off a week, if lucky, so he can't make a detecting jaunt over your way. But if you had some time to get away that would provide a weekend day (I believe he'll be off on Sunday's only soon) I am sure Gregg would enjoy taking you out.

That way you could see just how well the new 7" Concentric coil works and know why we suggest you ought to invest in that coil rather than a mid-sized DD coil. The new open-frame 5X9½ DD is working well for me on my Impact, and now I know for sure I want one for my CoRe and another for my Relic, but that's also because Nokta doesn't make a round 7" Concentric for the CoRe or Relic so I don't have that option, but Impact and Racer/Racer 2 owners do.
