First 1800s coin of the year, barely!

April 19, 2018 01:35PM
Got out detecting Tuesday and Wednesday.

Tuesday went to a couple older houses. Got some clad, five wheaties, oldest being 1917 and 1919. I also was able to snag two buffalo nickels, 1917 and 1930. I was using the Equinox 800, which i got two weeks ago, and am still learning.

Wednesday went to an old ghost town that still has some snow. I ended up having to hike in. It was a tough site as usual. I used the equinox 800 for half the day and didn't get to much. I then switched to the Makro Racer 2 with 6.5 x 3.5 snake coil. I got a partial bucket list find. I've always wanted a skeleton key and got half of one. I found a cool little banjo tag from 1895 to 1900. I finally got an 1800s coin this year. Just squeeked by with an 1899 indian head penny. Thanks for looking! Looking forward to next week in Oregon.
