My limited hunt time left me with only a decorative metal button front and a squished copper thimble, plus the miscellaneous cartridge cases, spent bullets, and typical ghost town trash we have to deal with to try and find the keepers that are hiding out there.
I'm glad someone knew what that interesting part was that you found. Did it come from 'Lone Tree' or from 'Lonesome Arch?' My guess would be 'Lone Tree' as I have found some parts there related to the one you found, but never one like that. Tough rocky ground to be using that equipment in, but those had to be some hardy souls who hung around those desolate places a century and more ago.
Our turn to find some old coins and trade tokens will be next and the Outing out of Wells starts just 16 days from today and I'm trying to ready up for it. More flat land to hunt and that's easier on me. Some of the sites, like Tobar, have more open areas where you're not brushing up against so much tick inhabited sage brush, too. Let's all hope the Nevada ticks are in much smaller numbers than we encountered at 'Lonesome Arch.'
Glad to see you two out and enjoying the Outing with a good group of people. Quite a few interesting finds made.
See you soon, ... and 'Thank You.'
