Have some waiting to do until Minelab gets the smaller 6" coil out. Etrac is resting for the time being. I need to get more time with the 800 and now Fors CoRe. Will be taking the Racer 2 and Fors CoRe to Wells.
I'm sure the Equinox 800 will both feel better (weight, balanced and handling), and provide an 'edge' in those dense, debris-filled old sites (plagued with an abundance of nails, rusty tin, etc.). The Minelab E-Trac might be useful in several portions of the townsites ... once a person finds spaces that are more open and far less littered with iron.

There is no doubt that taking the Makro Racer 2 and Nokta FORS CoRe with functional mid-sized and smaller coils you are going to have proven workhorses at hand for any of those environments. Just think, it's a little after 2 PM and a week from today, Friday, we'll be half-way through our second day of the 8th WTHO out of Wells, Nevada. I hope you, other participants and I are doing better that the last outing so far as old coin and trade token recoveries.

I'm getting my vehicle repaired tomorrow, taking care of another issue on Monday morning, then loading up for the Outing. My travel 'Team' will include my Racer 2, CoRe, Relic and one or two Tesoro's, all with selected coils for the tasks at-hand. As much as I enjoy my XLT I think it ought to stay home and wait its turn for different types of sites with more limited debris. Probably try to fit in a few detectors I plan on selling, all of which are highly capable for the type of hunting we'll be doing.

I know you have mastered the Racer 2 and I trust you'll have a few more hours under your belt with the CoRe before you make it down to the Outing. Have you decided on any particular town sites you want to concentrate on? The last couple of outings down that direction, in 2016 and 2017, you had some good fortune.
