Nice write-up and a fun experience.

It's always good to have 'fun' and enjoy every outing we make, even if we are not as successful as we might hope to be. Just looking for potential sites, meeting people when we seek permissions, and even joining in discussions with some of them who bring out a rather dated piece of equipment.

Congratulations on your success, and 'Thank You' for adding the photo of the property owner and his Garrett Master Hunter BFO. The BFO's were quickly outclassed when we rapidly progressed from TR's to VLF/TR-Disc. and on to motion-based VLF-Discriminators, but I used to keep a Garrett BFO, just like his, in my Detector Team until about 1983.

I hope you two have an opportunity to get more hunting time in during this beautiful fall weather.

Yes, the VX3 is an 'interesting' detector.
