EQ800's, VX3's and New Detectors

Congrats on the finds Rich. So how is Sid and the VX3 getting along?

Thanks Gregg, it was fun to get out and get in some hunting.

Sid is still getting familiar with his new VX3. Lots to learn for him. I've used enough detectors over the years that I can usually start using a new detector with a moderate level of success right off the bat. But, it generally takes me months of frequent hunting with a new detector to really get a high level of expertise with it.

Sid and I did some target comparisons at both locations and we swapped detectors for about 20 minutes near the end so he could listen to what my EQ800 was doing. I have to admit, the VX3 is a very different beast than what I have in my group of detectors.

All in all, a pretty good outing.

Yes, the VX3 is an 'interesting' detector.
