Todd, I think your Relic coil choice is perfect.

At least as far as I'm concerned for the vast majority of the places most folks hunt.

I have the Relic equipped with the 5" and 9,5"x5". I find that with either of those 2 coils it does really well in the local parks.
The 5X9½ DD open-frame is just about perfect for both the CoRe and Relic models for most open area searches, or even those with a modest to heavy amount of trash. Nice balance and feel, ample coverage, and really good performance with good stability. The 5" DD is still my most-used coil on the Relic, but that's because I mainly search very iron choked places and need to work in and around debris to better unmask keepers hidden in the nails and other iron junk.

And because I use these two coils the most on the Relic, I have TWO Relic devices and keep each of these coils mounted on a Relic full-time. No in-the-field coil changes needed, just grab the unit I feel best suited for the site and go hunt!thumbs up

Oregon Gregg had multiple CoRe units, and he just informed me the past couple of days that he has now acquired a 2nd Relic as well.

NOTE: Just in case you have a nifty tax return coming, or a better half that doesn't mind you making a wise detector investment, I have another 'as-new' Relic sitting on my living room couch. I watch for deals on these so I can snap them up for the savvy detectorists. This one has an unused 7X11 DD, an unused 5" DD, and it also has an unused 5½X10 solid-body DD.

I didn't list it yet with the other detectors and gear on the AHRPS Buy/Sell/Trade site, but I plan to unless somebody gets it from me first. Just a thought for someone to consider.eye rolling smiley

Just waiting now for huntable weather to get out and use mine.

Some obvious signs about manufacturing metal detectors.
