And mostly for the very same reasons. We're quite a ways from a coastal beach, and as an Aquaphobic I don't get out in the water very far, anyway. Especially with a cane and in loose, soft sand. But I do get to some river, lake or reservoir beaches that can be fun to hunt and the Simplex seems like it will fit that need just fine.thumbs up The compact collapsed rod system will let it easily be fitted into the 'travel detectors' to enhance detecting opportunities in my travels.

Nothing else on the market even close to what it offers, and I seriously doubt we'll see any competition in that segment in the near, or distant, future. Quite a value in a well-designed, 'simple' and 'functional' package.

I'll have to put a shirt on backwards so you can read it from the back .... because that's where you'll be in the line to get one.grinning smiley
