Mesquite Nevada isn't all that big of a town, but ....

for its size, with all of the casinos, gaming devices, lighting and all for the businesses, eateries and hotels, I'm sure it provides you with ample EMI. I might have one thing in my favorite, if you can consider it favorable, and that is my hearing loss. The military used the term 'DEAF' when they did my hearing tests each years for veteran summer hire at Hill AFB, and that was '82 through '86 considered. Too deaf to get a full-time civilian job there.

My son was measuring walls in my house a few weeks ago to install lighting in the living room. His electronic stud-finder wasn't working properly as the light came on but he couldn't hear the beep. Naturally, I had an ample supply of batteries so we made the change and he went back to work. He told me it was "working fine" after the battery was replaced. I asked: "Is it making a beep?" He said: "Yes, can't you hear it?"

Well, No, I couldn't and I was maybe 6' away. So I got up close, withy my ear maybe 1" from the stud-finder and still couldn't hear a thing. I tried both ears and ... Nothing! I thought he was joking with his Dad, but he got his phone off his belt and reordered the stud-finder's beep and played it back with an increased volume, and then I could hear it. Not loud but hearable if close enough.

So it might be that there is some slight higher-pitched static noise that I just can not hear. Besides, I can benefit from the higher Sensitivity levels I use because they can help enhance the audio target response by saturating the audio on some mid-depth to deeper targets, and sometimes enhance the volume/loudness.

And Yes, Nokta-Makro seems to be at or near the top of all the major detector manufacturers when it comes to offering a a splendid selection of search coils.
