Detector decisions can get interesting. But put in some serious time with ..

any decent detector to learn it well, and you might be surprised how some might make a really good 'fit' in your detector line-up.

Dang now your making me want a Nokta Relic too.
I have several detectors that I can put to use in those very densely Iron nail contaminated old town sites that also have a lot of other mixed-metal discards. In many applications the performance of my Bandido II microMAX, Simplex +, Vanquish 540, ORX and even the Impact is very impressive. I can grab any of these with a good smaller to mid-sized coil (and the Simplex + when they get them on the market) and be quite satisfied with their in-the-field performance.

However, none of them knock my Nokta CoRe or Relic out of their shared #1 spot as my 'get-serious' Relic Hunting detectors. They can be very close in performance, yet still different enough to complement each other. Having one is like an enjoyable musical performance. Having both is like a very welcomed encore.

I had really planned on to spend a good amount of time with my Anfibio. Then I came across that good deal on the fors core. Then I also have a brand new Xp deus and all the coils which is my bread and butter. I did buy a snake coil for the anfibio. So will be looking forward to putting in a lot of time trying out what works best for me.
The Deus you know so set it aside. Try the Snake coil on the Anfibio in 3-Tone with a Disc. set at '3' and put in some decent field time in a challenging iron-infested site. Ample time.

Then mount the 'OOR' DD on the CoRe, use 3-Tone, and set the Disc. at '10' and put in the same amount of time, re-hunting the very same locations as you hunted with the Anfibio. The same spots at the same locations to re-hunt where you worked the Anfibio w/Nel Snake coil. I'm not talking about a 15 minute or 30 minute search. Put in a solid full-day of hunting with the Anfibio & Snake coil, the go back the next day for the same amount of time working over the same locations, the very same location, with the CoRe & 'OOR' DD, then give it some thought.

Think of the audio responses you had. Look at eh recoveries you made and held onto and then of the throw-always. Consider the comfort and balance, the audio reports from located targets, and factor in how much you enjoyed the searches and how much 'fun' you had. Then make up you mind.

I know one thing the deus will not go anywhere. If I like how the core runs with zero disc setting I may keep it.
Why "Zero Disc.?" Just get rid of the main ground noise and some very low-conductive ferrous trash and use the Disc. settings I just suggested. Those are low-enough to just ACCEPT Iron Nails and that should let you still hear the presence of most of the annoying Iron debris at a location.

Thats hoping the factory breaks are setup to my liking. I like to be able to hear it all when I want to and still be able to pick out high and low conductors without looking at the vdi numbers and just using my ears.
I guess the important thing here is for the different 'beaks' to match your particular desires. Personally, I found the CoRe's Tone Breaks to be very functional in 3-Tone (Di3) and the 2-Tone mode (Di2) works best for me right at the Ferrous / Non-ferrous break-point of '40'.
